Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American political advisor, was the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party she has previously been a part of the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House assistant director of communications (2009–2011) as well as the spokesperson of the United States Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was a contributor to political campaigns to CNN from 2017 through 2020. Psaki's career began in 2001, when she was working in the reelection campaign of Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democratic candidate running for the U.S. Senate. Psaki then was appointed the deputy press secretary for John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. From 2005 to the year 2006, Psaki served as communications director for U.S. representative Joseph Crowley as well as the regional press secretary of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was appointed the press secretary of President Obama's 2012 election campaign. 20 Psaki quit as spokesperson for the United States Department of State on February 11 2013. There was speculation that she would replace Jay Carney as White House Press Secretary.[21However, Josh Earnest was announced to succeed Carney on May 30 in 2014. In the year 2015, she was recalled to the White House as communications director and stayed through the end of the Obama administration.
